One of the best class 4 kayaking rivers in the world-continuous, exhilarating whitewater with magnificent mountain backdrops. Recommended for expert kaykers and rafters.
If it's adventure you seek, you'll find it on this trip with one day of easy trekking and five days of intense rafting. Only recently opened for commercial rafting (many rapids have not been named yet), the Marshyangdi is one of the next generations of rivers in Nepal, steeper and with a much more continuous stretch of rapids.
The scenery is magnificent with every bend of the river opening up fresh vistas of some of the world's highest mountains, but these are behind-as someone said "great views but you need rear view mirrors"
Day 01: Kathmandu ?Besishahar
It will be organized as per as your schedule from pokhara or Kathmandu. Very early in the morning we leave by our private transports to Besishahar. This ride takes us off ?good? tarmac roads and tends to be a little bouncy in places (hope this is a subtle enough hint). We have scheduled a free after noon into this program at besishahar for any unlikely but potential delays. Night in tented.
Day 02: Besishahar ?Tarkughat
Day begins with hot cup of tea or coffee, after breakfast we break campsite and starts on our expedition down on the Marsyangdi. We start straight away encountering the rapids, one after another. Rapids are not named but one rapid follows straight after another with lots of technical and fast maneuvering required but great fun. A beautiful blue and white-water glinting in the sunshine and looking back up river magnificent and constantly changing views of the Annapurna and Manslu ranges. We have packed lunch. After lunch we continue floating to Tarkughat. By the time we reach Tarkughat camp will be set, tea and biscuits will be serve on your arrival. Dinner will be prepared. Just before dinner enjoy your Rum punch.
Day 03: Tarkughat-Bimalnagar-Kathmandu or Pokhara
Day follows same as previous days with hot cup of tea or coffee. After breakfast gears will be loaded on the vehicle, ready and go. Today also still we have to be lots of exhilarating rapids to encounter. The unfolding land escape, beautiful mountain backdrops, narrow gorges, vertical cliffs, open valley, and colorful villages offer you excellent moments on every second.
We arrive at Bimal Nagar; our transport will be waiting us. Pack up and loaded the rest of the gears and commence your traveling to next destination. Kathmandu, Pokhara or Chitwan it depends how you plan.
